Ask the candidates!
On 25 May 2004, the Society challenged the candidates in the forthcoming Borough Council election to face questions from the public in the William Loveless Hall. All the candidates turned up, though one had to leave early, and they fielded a variety of questions from the floor. Order was maintained by Mr Brian O’Dell as chair.
Public turnout was disappointing: only about 35 people, but that seemed to be in line with the current electoral apathy generally.
